Tyler Middlebrooks is a medical physicist and healthcare consultant specializing in diagnostic imaging physics, nuclear medicine, PET/CT, radiation safety, theranostics, radiopharmaceutical therapy, shielding design, dosimetry, and regulatory compliance. He is the founder of Medical Imaging Consultants, providing medical physics and radiation safety services to hospitals, imaging centers, physician offices, cancer treatment facilities, and healthcare organizations throughout the United States.
With more than a decade of experience in medical imaging, nuclear medicine, radiation safety, and healthcare quality assurance, Tyler has developed and supported programs focused on regulatory compliance, equipment performance, patient safety, accreditation, and radiation dose optimization. His consulting services include diagnostic medical physics testing, radiation safety officer support, PET/CT accreditation assistance, nuclear medicine quality assurance, radiation shielding design and calculations, dosimetry services, and state and federal regulatory compliance.
Tyler earned his Bachelor of Health Sciences in Nuclear Medicine from the University of Central Arkansas and graduated with honors from the Baptist Health College School of Nuclear Medicine. He later completed a Master of Applied Science degree with an emphasis in Nanoparticle Physics at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He also earned a Six Sigma Lean Black Belt in Healthcare (LBBH) through the Management and Strategy Institute.
In 2015, Tyler became an Imaging Quality Assurance Officer and helped develop quality and compliance programs supporting advanced medical imaging operations. In 2016, he established the first Imaging Radiation Safety Committee at CARTI Cancer Center in Little Rock, Arkansas, helping strengthen radiation safety oversight and regulatory compliance across imaging departments.
Tyler has served in numerous leadership roles within the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI), including appointments and elected positions within the Physics, Instrumentation and Data Sciences Council, PET Center of Excellence, Academic Council, and Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Council. He currently serves in an elected leadership position within the SNMMI PET Center of Excellence.
Since founding Medical Imaging Consultants in 2019, Tyler has provided consulting services for a broad range of imaging modalities, including Diagnostic X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Computed Tomography (CT), Cone Beam CT (CBCT), Dental Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, and Radiopharmaceutical Therapy programs. His work includes equipment performance evaluations, radiation safety program development, radiation shielding calculations, regulatory compliance audits, accreditation support, quality assurance program implementation, and radiation dose optimization.
Tyler has authored peer-reviewed publications in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine Technology and has contributed educational content and scientific publications for professional organizations.
